HERE ARE THE FACTS:   

In 2015 Leirion Gaylor Baird rejected a call by the majority on the city council to lower the property tax levy. She instead stated that Lincoln residents would be willing to "pass on their pizza" to keep property taxes high in Lincoln.  

In 2016 Leirion Baird refused support the budget submitted by the majority of the city council that called for NO property tax increase. Her decision to stand AGAINST the majority of the city council and Lincoln residents meant that the city council was unable to override the Mayor's veto of the budget that had no property tax increase.
